Help reunite lost animals with their families

Animals often get dropped off at TEARS or we get called to pick up strays in our area. Animals are often reported as lost. Together our community network can assist animals find their guardians - you can help by sending lost or found animal information to our dedicated lost and found Facebook page

If you lose an animal

Upload your animal’s details including a photo to the TEARS lost and found Facebook page

Do not limit your search to your immediate area.

Place posters up of your missing pet around your neighbourhood.

Offer a cash reward (do not communicate the amount).

Contact the 24 hour Veterinary Practices.

Place ‘Lost’ notices up at your local Vet, Vet shops and Pet shops.

Check your property, inside and out, cupboards, garages, sheds etc.

In the event of your pet being microchipped, contact the database your animal is registered with ie Get Me Known, Identipet, Virbac, 5 STAR, Communipet.

If you find an animal

Please take the animal to the nearest Vet or Animal Welfare Organisation to see if it is microchipped. 

Send a picture and details of the animal to the TEARS: Lost and Found Facebook page, share the information via social media and place notices at local vets and animal welfare organisations.
