Leading animal rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming non-profit organization, TEARS Animal Rescue is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team.
The Marketing Coordinator supports the work of the Marketing Team, in the form of project management, copywriting, event support and coordination, liaising with donors and supporters, and more. This also includes providing weekly and monthly reports on related activities, working on the donor management / CRM platform, and maintaining records of donor information.
Please note this is an agency entry-level to mid-level role.
You should have excellent attention to detail, be computer-literate with excellent writing and numeracy skills. Graphic design and experience with social media and community management would be advantageous. You should have a clear understanding of direct marketing and be comfortable dealing with databases, prospective donors, partners and sponsors. Experience working in a marketing agency role or in a fundraising environment would be a distinct advantage.
To do this, you will:
- Coordinate TEARS flagship events, events in support of TEARS and pop-up events
- Coordinate with sponsors to support TEARS events
- Maintain event collateral, branding and assets
- Find and fill sponsorship opportunities across TEARS programmes
- Build strong relationships with partners, sponsors and donors
- Coordinate the receipt of donations
- Grow the TEARS Woof & Whiskers Club
- Assist and coordinate marketing and fundraising campaigns and objectives
- Grow and maintain the TEARS donor database
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary education in Marketing/PR/Sales
- SA driver’s license and own vehicle
- Own computer
- Excel and excellent writing skills
- Strong research and communication skills
- Event Planning and organizing skills
- Problem analysis and problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal skills

JOB DESCRIPTION: Marketing Manager
TEARS Animal Rescue is seeking a full-time Marketing Manager in Sunnydale, to lead our marketing team.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering on the TEARS’ annual marketing strategy, plan and budget. This includes all campaigns, marketing activities, B2C events, the TEARS Calendar, social media, digital marketing, Annual Report, media and PR, content production and all other marketing needs with a focus on generating income for TEARS and meeting the marketing needs for all departments. The Marketing Manager is responsible for meeting all marketing income targets annually and managing the marketing calendar and marketing team.
Please note this is an agency mid-level role.
You should have excellent attention to detail, be computer-literate with excellent writing and numeracy skills. Experience working in a marketing agency role or in a fundraising environment is essential. Non-profit experience is a distinct advantage.
The day-to-day role consists of:
- Drive the overall strategic marketing direction of TEARS in alignment with our goals and plans across the organisation
- Develop and manage TEARS’ annual marketing strategy, plans, budget and timelines
- Manage and maintain the Marketing Calendar
- Achieve marketing goals and income targets set-out each year ensuring that expenses are not exceeded
- Manage the marketing team effectively, ensuring staff are trained and deliver on their KPIs
- Plan and execute the TEARS on and offline campaigns
- Set-up and manage a content and communication plan and calendar for the organisation
- Brief in and manage production of content to be used across TEARS communications, platforms and channels
- Ensure that TEARS staff and TEARS touchpoints are trained to promote TEARS programs and activities
- Maintain and communicate regularly with and grow a list of marketing volunteers
- Build relationships and maintain a pool of volunteers to assist with marketing activities
- Manage, market and coordinate all TEARS B2C events and the events calendar
- Support the TEARS B2B events
- Manage the annual PR plan for TEARS raising the profile of TEARS amongst the community at large
- Develop publicity campaigns in support of projects and events
- Act as media liaison handling and responding to all public queries and complaints
- Manage the Digital Marketing on website content management, mailers and social media as well as digital ads
- Manage inboxes
- Track ROIs of campaigns and events
- Report quarterly to the Board of Directors
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary education in Marketing/PR/Sales

JOB DESCRIPTION: Online Shop Coordinator
TEARS Animal Rescue is seeking a full-time Online Shop Coordinator in Sunnydale to manage and grow our online pet shop. This role is for someone who is passionate about all aspects of running an eCommerce store and wants to learn and grow their own skills while at the same time growing the TEARS Online Pet Shop. This is a feel-good role as all profits from the shop go to helping animals in need. You Must Love Dogs because the stores are located at our Kennels.
This is a junior to mid-level position. The day-to-day role consists of:
- Ordering stock from suppliers
- Receiving stock
- Picking and packaging orders
- Dispatching orders & sending out tracking references
- Updating order statuses
- Daily stock adjustments and monthly stock takes
- Customer service, monitoring inbox
- Product portfolio: updating products & pricing
- Meeting monthly sales targets
- Reporting (targets, stock takes)
- Tracking stock (expiry dates, damages)
Occasional extra work includes:
Assisting with annual events (Mandela Day, Golf Day. Sleepathon, Christmas Market) – These can fall over weekends.
Experience required (do not apply if this isn’t you):
- 2 years proven WooCommerce experience
- Proven knowledge of Excel & Google Sheets (export data & reporting)
Knowledge required:
- Excellent command of the English language

Other essential skills:

This is a junior to mid-level position. The day-to-day role consists of:

JOB DESCRIPTION: Cattery Co-ordinator
TEARS Animal Rescue Team is seeking to fill the following full-time (5 days/44 hours per week) position.
The day-to-day role consists of:
• Ensure the Cattery Front Office environment creates a positive first impression on visitors
• Provide first-contact interaction with members of the public and/or suppliers calling on the TEARS Cattery
• Handle administrative duties relevant to incoming and outgoing animals.
• Handle telephonic interactions with members of the public and/or clients/suppliers.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical duties as required
• Undertake administration of Volunteer Program
• Adoption Co-ordination
• Animal Care Responsibilities
Skills and knowledge required:
• Sound knowledge of cat caring techniques as well as animal behaviour and body language
