Leading animal rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, and rehoming non-profit organisation, TEARS Animal Rescue seeks a Marketing Manager to lead our marketing team ~ which consists of a social media and events coordinator respectively.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering on TEARS’ annual marketing strategy, plan, and budget. This includes all B2C fundraising campaigns, adoption and marketing activities, B2C events, digital and social media strategy, Annual Reports, consumer marketing and media liaison, content production planning, and focusing on generating B2C income for TEARS; and meeting the marketing needs for all departments. The Marketing Manager is responsible for meeting all marketing income targets annually and managing the marketing calendar and team.
Please note that this is an agency mid-level role.
You should be socially media savvy, have excellent attention to detail, and be computer-literate with excellent writing and numeracy skills. Experience working in a marketing agency role or a fundraising environment is essential. Agency and non-profit experience is a distinct advantage.
To do this, you will:
Drive the overall strategic marketing direction of TEARS in alignment with our goals and plans across the organization
Develop and manage TEARS’ annual marketing strategy, plans, budget and oversee fundraising campaigns and events
Manage and maintain the Marketing Calendar
Achieve marketing goals and income targets set out each year ensuring that expenses are not exceeded
Manage the marketing team effectively, ensuring staff are trained and deliver on their KPIs
Plan and execute the TEARS on and offline campaigns
Set up and manage a content and communication plan and calendar for the organisation
Brief in and manage content production for use across TEARS communications, platforms and channels
Ensure that TEARS staff and TEARS touchpoints are trained to promote TEARS programmes and activities
Maintain and communicate regularly with and grow a list of marketing volunteers
Build relationships and maintain a pool of volunteers to assist with marketing activities
Manage, market and coordinate all TEARS B2C events and the events calendar
Support the TEARS B2B events
Manage the annual PR plan for TEARS raising the profile of TEARS in the public sector
Develop publicity campaigns in support of fundraising projects and events
Act as media liaison handling and responding to all public queries and complaints
Manage the Digital Marketing on website content management, mailers and social media as well as digital ads
Manage inboxes
Track ROIs of campaigns and events
Monthly report to the General Manager and quarterly to the Board of Directors
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary education in Marketing/PR/Sales
SA driver’s license and own vehicle
Own computer
Understanding of POPIA and data privacy management
CRM on an online CRM tool
Excel and excellent writing skills
Strong research and communication skills
Event Planning and organizing skills
Problem analysis and problem-solving
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent management skills
Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Trello, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
Channel marketing experience
Good attention to detail and strong time management and organisational skills
Comfortable working under pressure and to a deadline
Non-profit or animal/pet industry experience is a bonus
