Give your #GivingTuesdays to TEARS Animal Rescue

Join the global #GivingTuesday Movement that Unleashes the Power of Radical Generosity.  The aim is to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.

This #GivingTuesday Campaign TEARS is inviting our supporters to get behind this campaign and do something to make a difference to vulnerable pets.  We can all make a difference, even if it’s to make someone smile, or give some of what we have to those who need our help. Afterall, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.

Though every Tuesday is a #GivingTuesday, the global #GivingTuesday campaign creates one day a year for EVERYONE to come together for GOOD, and this year, it falls on the busiest weekend of them all.  If you survive BlackFriday and CyberMonday then the final chapter in the trilogy is #GivingTuesday.  The opportunities for generocity are boundless, but we do have some specific needs at TEARS that we hope people will get behind to change the life of a rescue pet.

This year we are focusing fundraising efforts to support the TEARS Veterinary Hospital and Mobile Clinics by raising R1.2 million, which covers the costs to operate over our busiest and most challenging period: December 2024 and January 2025. Our full-time welfare veterinary service, led by Dr. Tania Heuer and a team of two vets and nine support staff, offers free primary healthcare to injured, sick and dying community pets that would otherwise have nowhere else to go. The TEARS Veterinary Hospital operates six days a week and includes a second surgery and a dedicated cat Ward, processes an average of 50-60 patients per day, which include sterilisations, scheduled and emergency surgeries and a variety of assessments and tests that range from blood work, X-rays and ultra-sounds.

With your donation we can ensure that vulnerable pets aren’t forgotten this Christmas. Please help us support those who most often experience the worst of humanity in a time when everyone is celebrating community and family: many pets are dumped, lost, or left without food or water or adequate care resulting in the busiest time for the TEARS Mobile Clinic and Veterinary teams. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference between hopelessness and hope; and give a rescue pet their “second chance” miracle at living their best life.

This #GivingTuesday be the change you want to be for a rescue pet in need. Help us relieve suffering and save lives by making a contribution to supporting the TEARS Veterinary Hospital and the lifesaving work that they do!
