In October 2015, TEARS Animal Rescue was forced to evacuate its kennels #TheGreatEscape as a result of unrest in neighbouring Masiphumelele, the local township in the far-south of the Cape Peninsula.
The silver lining to this dark cloud was that 30 of the evacuated dogs that went into temporary foster care in the homes of local community members, were adopted by their foster parents #FosterFails.
Medipet and Happy Tails Box wanted to recognise these humans who had fallen head over heels for their four-legged charges, so they made up goodie bags for each #FosterFail family. Special thanks goes to HUNTER‘s and Happy Tails Box for the gorgeous selection of treats included in the bags, and to Lindt South Africa for supplying luxury chocolates for the foster parents.
All the #FosterFails were entered into a lucky draw to win a Happy Tails Box filled with exciting treats, toys and goodies. The draw was carried out by Medipet Director, Louise, and Happy Tails Box CEO, Shaveen.
The winner was Toby (formerly Tino) who thoroughly enjoyed his loot. Toby was adopted by John and Emma Reid and family – don’t miss their story in the February/March edition of Canine Zone Magazine.
We at TEARS congratulate Toby on his win – not only of the Medipet/Happy Tails Box – but on managing to win the hearts of the wonderful Reid family. We think his choice was just perfect.
