National Lotteries Commission
A timely grant of R399 200 from the National Lotteries Commission means TEARS Animal Rescue will accelerate its sterilisation drive in underprivileged areas of the southern Cape Peninsula.
The grant will also go towards covering some of TEARS’ monthly operational expenses. The National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) has approved use of the funds for items like clinic expenses, including consumables and sterilisations, veterinary fees, clinic salaries and wages, telephone costs, vehicle repairs, maintenance and fuel. A sum has been approved for outsourced human resources services and personnel training and development. *
* The NLDTF relies on funds from the proceeds of the National Lottery. The Lotteries Act guides the way in which NLDTF funding may be allocated. The NLDTF wants the grants to make a difference to the lives of all South Africans, especially those more vulnerable and to improve the sustainability of the beneficiary organisations. Available funds are distributed to registered and qualifying non-profit organisations in the fields of charities; arts, culture and national heritage; and sport and recreation. By placing its emphasis on areas of greatest need and potential, the NLDTF contributes to South Africa’s development.
The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet
fundraising programme is one of South Africa’s biggest community programmes. We raise funds for schools, charities and environmental organisations through a card system that allows supporters to raise funds for their beneficiary (school or charity) every time they shop at our partner stores. Partners make a contribution, on behalf of the supporter/cardholder, towards the beneficiary they have selected.
The system allows cardholders to make a difference to a worthy cause without it costing them a cent! The MySchool, MyVillage, MyPlanet programme raises more than R4 million per month for the schools, charities, animal welfare and environmental organisations it supports.
Medipet prides itself on employing a team of animal loving staff that has grown the business into the largest dedicated pet insurance broker in South Africa. With our in-house veterinary expertise, in addition to our commitment to act on behalf of our clients and their pets, we are able to ensure that our policy is accompanied by the best possible service.
